Calé Fragranze d’Autore is taking part in the 16th edition of Esxence with Thesaurus

Calé Fragranze d’Autore will once again take part in Esxence, the leading international event dedicated to artistic perfumery.

The theme of this sixteenth edition is “Sensing the World”: an invitation to reconnect with the present moment and allow body, mind and emotions to move in harmony, in search of the most authentic perception of reality.

It is within this context that Calé Fragranze d’Autore will unveil its latest creation: Thesaurus, a fragrance that interprets the sense of deep connection with the world around us.

Within the scents we silently preserve in our memory lives the deepest trace of who we once were, of the experiences that have shaped us, and of who we continue to become. Our senses are the most human way we inhabit the world and, among them all, smell is the one capable of reaching the most intimate and invisible part of ourselves — the part that cannot be explained, only felt.

Every fragrance thus becomes a hidden treasure, a precious memory refined and preserved by time. Because true treasures do not glitter and do not need to reveal themselves immediately: they slowly unfold to those who know how to recognize their value.

Thesaurus is the result of this philosophy: a fragrance that does not seek to impress instantly, but rather to reveal itself over time — an expression of those who choose to grow slowly, to enrich themselves inwardly day after day, and to look toward the future with awareness and optimism.

Just as human beings grow gradually, absorbing and nourishing themselves with everything around them, the raw materials of this fragrance also mature in silence, protected by the earth, the roots, and the heart of the wood. The fragrance thus becomes a metaphor for personal evolution, a manifesto of awareness and an aspiration toward a deep and authentic lifestyle. It whispers with intensity and invites us to slow down, listen and reflect.

Silvio Levi shared his vision with master perfumer Mark Buxton in order to create a fragrance that could embody this inner growth, summarized in these words:

“In a world where haste dominates our lives, perhaps we should pause for a moment and remember that nothing truly beautiful or meaningful can be achieved in a short time. Throughout life, stimuli, experiences, joys and disappointments gradually shape our personality, blending and merging little by little, helping us grow and improve. Thesaurus is the treasure we nurture within ourselves and enrich every day with patience and dedication, without ostentation, so that we may become increasingly proud of who we are becoming.”

The three protagonists of the fragrance are iris, saffron and sandalwood — raw materials that embody the very concept of treasure. Iris and saffron conceal their essence within the rhizome, while sandalwood guards its soul in the heartwood and roots. Their nuances merge in a sensual and comforting embrace.

The iris, both icy and buttery at once, lends elegance to the structure and represents the aspiration toward new experiences. Saffron, with its spicy, bittersweet and metallic profile, adds character and refinement. Finally, Australian sandalwood, with its milky and velvety facets, brings depth and warmth to the composition, giving it a sense of stability.
